INTRODUCTION OF DENGUE FEVER

Viruses are smaller agents that may infect a wide range of living creatures, including bacteria, plants, and humans. The dengue virus, like other viruses, is a tiny structure that can only develop within a host species.

Dengue fever is a serious disease spread to people by infected mosquito bites. Dengue fever is widespread globally in tropical and subtropical climates, mostly in urban and semi-urban regions. Dengue fever's worldwide incidence has risen dramatically, with over half of the world's population now at risk.

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne virus that is the world's top cause of arthropod-borne viral illness. Because of the intensity of the muscular spasms and joint agony, it is also known as breakbone fever, dandy fever, or seven-day fever. Although the majority of cases are asymptomatic, serious disease and death are possible.

Aedes mosquitos, which are abundant in tropical and subtropical areas across the world, transmit the virus. Dengue fever has spread substantially over the last several decades, and the disease is now endemic in various regions of the world. After being infected with another variant of the dengue virus, a few persons who had previously been infected with one subspecies of the virus experience acute capillary permeability and bleeding.

You are more likely to have dengue fever or a more severe version of the disease if you:

1) You either reside in or go to tropical climates. Being in tropical and subtropical climates increases your chances of contracting the dengue fever virus. Southeast Asia, the western Pacific islands, Latin America, and Africa are particularly high-risk locations.

As you can see in diagram above, the data refers to the period from January 2013. The country of Brazil is the most numerous and in the highest record due to the hot weather.

The next diagram shows the number of death due to dengue fever in Latin America and the Caribbean from 2016 to 2020. You can see that the bar chart is ascending and also descending irregularly. In 2019 showed the highest number of deaths compared to other years.

2) You've got dengue fever before. If you have previously been infected with a dengue fever virus, you are more likely to have severe symptoms if you get dengue fever again.
